The ingredients needed to make Sunrise Bicuits:
  1. Make ready 2 3/4 cup gluten-free all purpose flour (or 2 cups regular flour)
  2. Get 1 tbsp baking powder
  3. Get 1 tsp baking soda
  4. Get 1/2 tsp xanthum gum ( if using regular flour, you don't need this ingredient)
  5. Prepare 1/2 tsp salt
  6. Prepare 1/3 cup butter
  7. Make ready 1 cup buttermilk (if don't have Buttermilk or need a dairy free option, put 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice in 1 cup measuring cup & add enough milk of your choice to make 1 cup, stir, & let set for 5 min, then it's ready to use. may have to stir after sitting)
  8. Prepare 1 egg white, lightly beaten
  9. Make ready 1 tbsp water

Steps to make Sunrise Bicuits:

For gluten-free, you may have to add up to another 3/4 cups of flour to reach desired consistency depending on the flour.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto baking sheet. You can roll them out & use a cookie cutter the make round ones if you want, but I prefer not to, since it is less messy & easier to just drop spoonfuls on cookie sheets.
  4. Combine egg whites & water. Brush over tops of biscuits. Bake until golden, about 12-15 minutes.
