  1. Make ready 300 g Self raising flour
  2. Make ready pinch salt
  3. Prepare 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  4. Get 1 tsp baking powder
  5. Get 55 g butter
  6. Take 100 g chedder cheese, plus extra for topping the scones
  7. Make ready 90 ml milk, plus extra for glazing

Steps to make Cheese Scones:
  1. Preheat oven to 200degress with the baking tray inside
  2. In a large bowl sift together the flour, slat, cayenne pepper and baking powder and stir to make sure all the ingredients are well combined together.
  3. Cut the butter into cubes, place in the bowl and mix with your finger tips till it resembles breadcrumbs
  4. Sprinkle the grated cheese into the mixture and distribute evenly. Make well in the middle and add the milk a little at a time to form a dough.
  5. Sprinkle Flour on a surface and roll out the dough. Cut up the dough with a medium size cutter and place on the heated baking tray.
  6. Glaze the scones with the extra milk and sprinkle the extra cheese on top. Bake in the oven for 10-15mins until golden brown.
