  1. preheat oven to 200`c
  2. grease and flour your oven pan
  3. sift flour, sugar, salt in a bowl and add butter. rub with your fingertips until mixture resembles breadcrumbs
  4. make a well in the centre and using a wooden spoon, mix until you have a well mixed dough
  5. place on a lightly floured surface and press the dough with your hands to a 3cm thick round
  6. dip a cutter or drinking glass into flour and cut out scones and place the scones in a well prepared pan
  7. bake for approximately 15 minutes or until golden brown
  8. enjoy with jam and cream
